#20: Jurassic Dork

This is officially the best curse day ever. Watching the dinosaurs is so much fun. Watching people attempt to fight the dinosaurs is even more fun. Anyone want to come watch them with me? I bet Tosh would have. I found a really safe spot, I promise.

Can't be too careful around velociraptors.

Oh, and I have a webcam so that those of you who are missing this...don't have to miss it, I guess.

[ooc: This is for anyone who wants their character to be able to see the action without actually going to the zoo. Also, if your character is at the zoo, feel free to post any action that you want caught on camera...but be warned, Dr. Horrible will probably jump in with his own personal commentary.]

You're really going near those things?

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not that close.

[And on the video feed, curious stegosaurus is much closer than he thinks.]

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Goodness, be careful! There's one right there!

voice

[identity profile] sings4dragons.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
They're a little large.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
What?

Ooooops.

[Camera suddenly jerks upward, as if he's just rappelled up into a tree.]

There. No problem

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
You're going to get yourself into a great deal of trouble, acting this way.

voice & video

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Of course they're large! They're dinosaurs!

[Kind of still stuck up a tree with a stegosaurus nosing around below.]

This one's an herbivore anyway. Only eats plants.

The dragons back home are bigger.

... if it's so peaceful, then why are you up a tree?

voice

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Dragons? Do they breathe fire.

Well, it still has a huge spiky tale that it's waving around.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Everything is under control.

voice

[identity profile] sings4dragons.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
They do when they need to. Mine do, too.

Ahhh.

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
You're going to get hurt, you know...

voice

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
You have dragons?

voice

[identity profile] sings4dragons.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Fire-lizards, actually, but they're close cousins. They're just smaller, really, and not quite as smart.

*random squeaking and chirping in the background*

.... but still easily offended, I'm afraid.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
You worry too much. I'm being careful. I wouldn't want to end up in a position where I'd have to be saved after all...

[The stegosaurus is moving away and he's obviously preparing to come down from the tree.]

voice

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
That's still really cool.

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Good, because I really don't feel like facing down another dragon--dinosaur, honestly, whatever those things are--because you did something silly and needed saving.

voice

[identity profile] sings4dragons.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
That's really what?

voice

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Um, cool is a slang term. It means I'm impressed, that I think those must be really great pets to have.

[Have a video of a herd of triceratops.]

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not doing anything si--

Wait, you've already faced down a dragon?

voice

[identity profile] sings4dragons.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
I'm still learning a good deal of slang. It isn't the same on Pern.

They're interesting, but I'm not sure I'd call them pets.

...... what were those?

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
In a manner of speaking, yes. I agreed to be one's dinner once.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
What in the world did you do that for?

Look, it's only some triceratops. They're really very peaceful.

[Yes, with big pointy horns.]

voice

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Companions? Friends? How smart are they?

Triceratops. They also eat plants.

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
So that everyone else that I cared about wouldn't be.

...Those things have horns like a troll and you mean to say they're peaceful?

voice

[identity profile] sings4dragons.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yes and yes, and a bit more, in fact.

They're intelligent, for animals. The bunch I have Impressed on me when they hatched, so they're... linked to me, I guess you could say. They're able to let me know where they've been and what they've been doing, they can run simple errands for me as well as fetch things for me as long as it's small enough for them to carry. Things like that, mostly.

.... they're amazing. I've never seen horns like that!
