#41: And I won't feel a thing...

[Voice]

So is the City breaking or what?

[He doesn't sound like he really cares, either way.]

[ooc: So after much internal debate I went with updating him all the way to the end--I'm sort of assuming at least a month or two has gone by for him. He's kind of broken but he'll snap out of it. Eventually. Expect something of a different Horrible until then. He remembers everything from the city, but it all feels a little distant right now.]

[The Master stands in front of the screen in his false TARDIS, businesslike.]

I'm afraid my results were inconclusive before I was essentially yanked through. But the barrier is definitely weaker. Whether or not that affects the fabric of spacetime in the City is a different story. You might do a few tests? [He shrugs.] I can't do them from this side.

1 of... 3. Ish.

Billy! You're back!

Yeah. Let's say three.

[identity profile] horrible-penny.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
You're really back! I'm so, so glad to see you, you have no idea!

Done now. ._.

[identity profile] horrible-penny.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
...You're different.

Yanked through to what, exactly?

1/2 there is a ridiculously long pause in responding

2/2

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess a lot has happened.

[He gestures behind him at his TARDIS: gothic, stony, guttering candles, big circular console behind him with a lighted white tube emerging from the centre and a lot of complex technology on it.]

A facsimile of my TARDIS. I don't know what it is in actuality. The machines I brought with me analyse it as a TARDIS but it isn't one. I can't access most of her--its processes and I can only access the back rooms that don't have close-able doors leading to them. Everything is locked down. And I can't communicate with her at all.

I've was in a TARDIS once...didn't know they were so popular. Nice interior, by the way.

They're telling us to patch the holes.

[The Master looks momentarily confused.]

You--?

[And then it makes sense.]

The Doctor's, I assume. They're not that popular. We're just the same species. But thanks, I guess.

[He is personally less than impressed with his previous incarnation's design preferences.]

I saw. I can't imagine that patching the walls of reality with polymer will be very useful but it could slow the process down, potentially. [He shrugs.] Or it could just be busywork.

Yeah, there was this party, a while ago.

[He's trying to sound normal, or not normal but not as apathetic as he feels.]

Maybe I'll whip up a batch of glue, after I run some tests. The barrier appears to be disturbingly close to--well, anyway, I think I'd prefer the city didn't disintegrate.

Billy?

Good luck. I'd like to know what you find out. I'd prefer that the City not fall to pieces. At least not while I'm probably still inside it.

[He gives Doctor Horrible a thoughtful look.]

I assume...the history-changing didn't go as planned?

[identity profile] spiritofsorrow.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, Billy. Penny will be delighted to see you again.

[identity profile] horrible-penny.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Do you want to come to the apartment? We can talk about it or something. I have hot chocolate.

Doctor, how good to hear from you~

Of course not.

I learned what it's like to get everything but the girl.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I don't--not tonight. I promise I want to see you, just...in a little bit.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'm back.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Sorrow. I guess I'm glad to be back. Or I should be.

[identity profile] horrible-phd.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Hello. How are things?

[identity profile] neverendingbeat.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
And I suppose having her here doesn't make it any better?

[identity profile] horrible-penny.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. Just... you know. I don't know. You know where to find me, whenever.

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad to see you again.

You know, life is really easy when you don't actually care. You can get away with almost anything. And if you don't, well, doesn't matter.

I think I'm supposed to start caring now. I don't know if I'm ready for that. So things should be better here, but it's complicated. I don't know.
